It Wasn’t That Long Ago…2013

Remember? Less than eight years ago a dust storm wreaked havoc on roadways of Northern Nevada. The downed trees in the Reno area would have been a job for The Tree Professionals. Over in Winnemucca there was a 27-car pileup! The crash prompted the Nevada Highway Patrol to shut down the east to west corridor on I-80.

What happens when a freak storm hits Reno, Carson City, or any area around Northern Nevada? Well, trees are downed in neighborhoods around the area. When that happens, the populace think instinctively of The Tree Professionals and their owner Greg Chavez. That is just the way it has been for years!

Throughout the last decade, The Tree Professionals have been Northern Nevada’s arborist offering free estimates. The top priority of their company is always the safety of the property and the people who reside on it. When you have downed trees in the Reno area call Greg of The Tree Professionals the tree removal experts at (775) 420-8694. Visit thetreeprofessional.com.

Trimming or Pruning…that is the Question.

What is nobler? Both landscape tasks mean that you’re cutting back shrubs, right? You may not know it, but the answer is not so simple. Yes, shrub trimming and pruning involve removing growth, but they are two completely different approaches. You should understand the definitions of both and how they differ.

Here is one…shrub trimming is cutting off the tips of branches to clean up the overall appearance of a plant. It basically involves using power hedge trimmers to skim the tops and sides of shrubs so they look nice and neat and manicured. Pruning is good for shrubs because it removes branches that are dead or diseased and makes room for new growth.

Trimming or pruning…that MAY well be the question, but one thing that is a certainty is if you need shrubs pruned or trimmed or both in Northern Nevada you call The Tree Professional of Reno. That is easy. Just call (775) 420-8694 for the nicest property in the neighborhood! For a better look, Google thetreeprofessional.com.

Timberrrrrr!

Maybe it was a late winter storm or just the effects of age and disease, but perhaps you have a fallen tree in your yard or are about to. Here is a tip…like anything else, trees grow old and can deteriorate in the process. If you have a tree that you can see is rotting or diseased, it’s best to remove it before it falls and does more damage.

What is the condition of the tree on the ground? Is the trunk still intact? Did it rip the stump out of the ground? Did it fall apart into dozens of rotting pieces? Cleaning up after a tree falls may require the use of some heavy machinery such as chain saws, woodchippers, or even cranes to remove large pieces of trunk!

Absolutely not…not you! There are people who make their living at jobs such as this. One of the very best tree removal companies in Northern Nevada is The Tree Professional. Greg and his guys will have your yard looking as good as new in no time. See examples of their work at thetreeprofessional.com. Call for maintenance or emergencies at (775) 420-8694.

When to Remove and When to Trim.

Sometimes you must make a decision to have old shrubs and bushes removed from your property rather than just trimmed back. Shrubs that are allowed to grow without proper regular pruning become overgrown and may ruin the balance of your Northern Nevada land. Removing these overgrown shrubs can be a daunting task, especially if the root system is extensive.

Here are some of the tools you may need if you consider this a DIY task –

1.  An ax.

2.  A saw.

3.  A crowbar.

4.  A pulling chain.

5.  Pruning shears.

Okay, Grizzly Adams…have at it! Or, why not just call Greg at The Tree Professional to have the job of removing trees and bushes from your Reno area property done efficiently and properly. The Tree Professional of Northern Nevada has been around for many years. Visit them at thetreeprofessional.com and call anytime at (775) 420-8694.

What Responds Best to Being Pruned.

It is getting to be that time of year again (late winter/early spring) when pruning bushes and trees is highly advisable. At this point, it may seem like winter will never end in Northern Nevada, but it will…and soon! So now that the time is soon arriving, we thought it would be a good idea as to which plants on your property respond best to pruning.

Here are some of them –

1.  Forsythia

2.  Lilac

3.  Honeysuckle

4.  Red and yellow twig dogwood

5.  Azaleas

There are many, many more, of course. Suffice to say, as spring is just around the corner you should be calling a professional pruner in the Reno area to come to your Northern Nevada property.
