Here are some places to have your tree recycled –

Pruning in Winter.

This winter will be an excellent time to prune away those plants and trees here in the Reno area. During this time, most plants and trees go to sleep (that’s right, they hibernate like a big old bear!).  This will ready them so that they can reach full bloom in the spring.  It promotes plant health and protects people and property.

Here are winter tips to successful pruning –

1.  Use high-quality well-sharpened shears.
2.  Don’t prune trees during snow or rain storms.
3.  Cut where the branches and trees meet.
4.  Don’t chop off too much.
5.  Call a professional tree trimmer.

When it comes to pruning, trimming, or entirely removing trees from your Northern Nevada property play it safe.  Call The Tree Professional.  Why wouldn’t you when the alternative can possibly be dangerous and is certainly taxing?  The Tree Professional will come out to your Reno area property and assess the job.  Just call Greg at (775) 420-8694.

The Heavy Stuff is Coming.

You bet it is…heavy snow in Northern Nevada will hit periodically this winter.  How does it affect the trees and shrubs on your property?  The frequency and severity of winter damage is determined by a number of factors, including the plant species or the location and conditions under which the plant is grown, and when there are weather extremes during the dormant period.

The branches of many hardwoods may be seriously damaged in ice storms.  Improper removal of ice or snow from the tree or shrub might increase damage.  Heavy snow should be removed gently before it freezes to limbs and branches.  Removing ice encased on branches can cause additional damage and should not be attempted!

Those of us at The Tree Professionals here in Reno want you to wake up after each heavy snow this winter without trepidation that your beautiful and valuable property is intact.  When, and if you need us during the long winter ahead we are always just a phone call away.  We are The Tree Professionals of Northern Nevada at (775) 420-8694.

Just Stand Over There…30 Feet Above the Ground.

Say what?  Who does that?  Oh yeah, when you do, have a chain saw and maybe a pole saw (as you may have guessed that is a saw that is going to be naturally better equipped for pruning harder, thicker woods on the end of a long pole).  Now you get an idea of what a great tree trimmer is ready to do for you on your property!

There are many reasons to prune a tree.  The most important point is safety.  Branches that overhang near the house or brush against it must be removed.  Branches that block visibility near streets and intersections need to be trimmed away as well.  Of course, you know that.  It’s just that trees grow so slowly you may have stopped noticing.

Pruning large branches requires the right tools…and the right people.  That last part is easy.  The best tree trimmers and arborists in the Reno area are a phone call away.  They are called The Tree Professionals.  You may look them up before you call them at thetreeprofessional.com.  Then all you have to do is arrange a visit by calling (775) 420-8694.

Stormy, Stormy, Night.

With apologies to Vincent Van Gogh (Starry, Starry, Night) we just wanted to remind you that winter storms are just around the corner in Northern Nevada.  Lest you forget, when snow storms hit our area they usually come with full force including hail on many occasions.  No yard is spared from their wrath!

Winter storms can down trees that previously seemed invulnerable to nature’s blast.  Steady, strong trees that have deep roots and have survived the previous winter furies in Northern Nevada become damaged or even fall.  That means not only can they become hazardous to your family, but even to neighbors and pedestrians.

When and if winter storms hit Reno and the surrounding area have this phone number at the ready…(775) 420-8694.  It is the number of The Tree Professional.  Greg and his staff have just about seen it all over the many winters they have experienced here in Northern Nevada.  Just be cautious and ready to call The Tree Professional at (775) 420-8694.

Seven Fall Favorites in Reno Tahoe

(Click the link above for more information)

"Seven solid reasons to make Reno Tahoe your fall-cation destination."

Is Fall a Good Time to Plant a Tree in Northern Nevada?

Many experts (ya gotta love those experts!) claim that planting trees in fall is better. In the fall, the tree can make new roots without having to feed the leaves.  Water needs are suddenly much lower without the leaves on the tree.  It may feel cool in fall, but that is actually the best temperature for root growth!  Quite simply roots grow best in cool soil.

Here is an inescapable fact…A fall planting allows the tree to grow roots in fall and again early spring BEFORE leaves even develop.  This gives the tree a good chance to lay down a good set of roots before they need to collect water and nutrients for the leaves.  Good nurseries should have many plants available because fall planting is becoming more popular.

We here at The Tree Professional endorse the planting of trees in the Autumn of the year here in the Reno area and around Northern Nevada.  When and if, those trees need to be managed or even removed someday, we will be here for you.  For all or your arboreal needs we are The Tree Professional.  Just give us a call at (775) 420-7694.

Stay Away from that Power Line!

Trees growing through power lines are dangerous because they create a potential path for electricity to travel directly to the ground.  People that come into contact with this path (by touching, climbing, trimming or cutting down the trees) may put themselves at serious risk of being electrocuted or receiving significant electrical burns.

Trees near power lines are also a serious fire risk in dry weather conditions…and, yes leaves or branches touching lines can catch fire!  The most important thing to remember in Northern Nevada is that tree owners are responsible for keeping their trees away from network electricity lines.  Their family’s safety as well as the public’s is at stake.

Now, if you please, visit the website thetreeprofessional.com on the web.  Please go to our gallery and note the third picture in the first row located on the right.  Now you know why Reno area residents have counted on The Tree Professional for removal of tree limbs touching power lines.  Call them anytime at (775) 420-7694.

Help…It’s an Emergency!

We all know that trees on our Reno area property provide shade and beauty, as well as create privacy around your home.  The trees in your yard also help to keep the area cooler and give off oxygen that provides a more pleasant environment.  However, there are certain occasions when emergency tree removal service is necessary.

For example, say a tree has been damaged or fallen after one of our fierce Northern Nevada storms.  If a tree is older, weak, or there is simply a strong storm, it may incur damage that makes it a hazard for you and maybe even the neighbors.  In some cases, a tree or parts of it have blown over or landed on a building or car.

Do not hesitate for one minute!  Call The Tree Professional serving Reno and Northern Nevada with 24/7 emergency tree removal service.  You know the drill, if you get out in the yard and try to remove the debris yourself then you are taking an enormous chance of being injured.  Call Greg at The Tree Professional at (775) 420-7694.

Safety First…Up, Down, and all Around.

Tree trimming operations require climbing and pruning, often with portable power tools like chainsaws or trimmers.  Unless you are Jedidiah Sawyer (just kidding…look up his name) you are not equipped for tree removal.  The risk of falling or even electrocution if power lines are nearby is very real!

Here are some things that a tree-trimmer must be aware of –

1.  They wear proper linemen’s gloves.
2.  Making sure that passersby and co-workers are safe.
3.  Work with a skilled partner.
4.  Never use conductive tools near power lines.
5.  And foremost…do an assessment of the job before beginning.

Care, safety and quality workmanship are what The Tree Professional and his team are all about.  Greg and his crew follow each step of the process religiously to accomplish a finished product that you will be proud to show off.  For tree trimming or removal in the Reno area and throughout Northern Nevada call Greg at (775) 420-7694.
